8 day cycle tour with hotel accommodation.

The Bohuslän province on the west coast of Sweden is a perfect destination for your cycling holiday. The province is known for its beautiful coastline, fjords and pictuesque fishing spots.
The trip begins in the province capital, Uddevalla, approx. 90km north of Gotenburg. The first day consists of a tour around the local region followed by a trip to the coast on the following day. Your baggage is transported for you to each destination. From your hotel in Ellös you’ll make number day trips along the amazing coastline. On the 5th stage you’ll make a return to Uddevall. During this bike tour you will stay in 2 different hotels. There will also be a rest day included in the program.
Program
Day 1: Arrival in Uddevalla
Overnight stay: Hotell Bohusgården - Uddevalla
Day 2: Stage 1: Day trip in an easterly direction throught the Swedish landscape.
Overnight stay: Hotell Bohusgården - Uddevalla
Day 3: Stage 2: Uddevalla - Ellös
From Uddevalla you’ll ride to the coast over the island Orust. Along the south side of the Borgile and Koljä fjords you’ll ride mostly on quiet roads to your destination, Ellös.
Overnight stay: Hotell Sjögården - Ellös
Day 4: Stage 3: Daytrip to Lysekil
After taking a ferryboat trip you’ll ride over the Flatön island to the towns Grundsund and Fiskebäckskil. From here you take the ferry to Lyskil.
Overnight Stay: Hotell Sjögården - Ellös
Day 5: Rest day. There’s no bike trip scheduled for today so you may fill in the time at your own disposal. You may choose to go canoeing or go swimming in the hotel pool.
Overnight stay: Hotell Sjögården - Ellös
Day 6: Stage 4: Day trip over Orust
Today you’ll ride along the coast in a southerly direction.
Overnight stay: Hotell Sjögården - Ellös
Day 7: Stage 5: Ellös – Uddevalla
Today you’ll ride back to Uddevalla via Flatön, Bokenäs and Högås.
Overnight stay: Hotell Bohusgården - Uddevalla
Day 8: After breakfast the last of the hired gear is returned and it’s time to day goodbye. Have a safe journey home and we hope you enjoyed your trip.

Not included: Travel to and from Udevalla from your home destination, meals not mentioned, bike hire, visits to the museam or other tourist venues and parking fees.

Group size and composition
This individual bike tour is suitable for people with some cycling experience.
Level:
This is a bike tour with small gradients. At times there are hilly sections however there are also parts of the tour that is flat. A bit of bike fitness is desired however not necessary. Do be prepared for a number of strong hills. The average distance covered lies between 35km and 65km per day. The route will mostly be on sealed and public roads with the occasional dirt road in good cycling condition. The organisation has tried to avoid the busiest roads as much as possible however, the traffic is Sweden is mostly quiet anyway.
Accommodation:
During your cycle tour you will stay in good hotels. In Uddevalla you will stay in “Bohusgården hotel & konferens” (www.bohusgarden.se) and in Ellös in “Sjögården hotell, spa & konferens” (www.sjogarden.se). You will have access to your own bathroom. Both hotels have pools.
Meals:
You will receive breakfast daily. There are no warm meals included in this tour. We will however, provide you with a packed lunch which you can prepare at breakfast.
Optional:
You may book a 2 course dinner for SEK 1600:- (7x). In Uddevalla a table will be booked for you in a nearby restaurant (www.villalindesnas.se or www.gustafsberg.net). The hotel in Ellös has its own restaurant.
